Makin' crayons

During one of the (many) rainy afternoons this summer, Tori and Devin made some cool crayons. These were really fun to make and turned out beautiful!

Step 1. Soak the crayons in warm water. This makes the labels peel off in just a few minutes with no scraping. I have found that only Crayola works this easily.

Step 2. Arrange the peeled crayons into groups according to the color combinations you want to make.

Step 3. Break up the crayons and put them into foil muffin pans.

Step 4. Bake at 350 degrees for 5 to 10 minutes until they are completely melted.

Step 5. Let them cool and pop them out.

This reminded me of something similar my brother and I used to do. We would place peeled crayons in a clear plastic container and leave it out in the summer sun for a day or so. silly kids, we were!
