Tori pranced into my room today on all fours and proclaimed that she was Devin's new pet zebra. She was wearing 3 pairs of tights the girls wore with their witch costumes for Halloween a couple of years ago.
Every molecule of pollen in the state of Massachusetts has found its final resting place atop our pool. I have spent countless hours vacuuming, skimming, and vacuuming some more. Our neighbors have been kind enough to let J & B cool off in their pool, but T & D stay home and busy themselves with all sorts of outdoor games. They set up a bakery and make cupcakes and cookies with sand, adorning their creations with twigs and leaves. They pretend they are fairies and mix wonderful potions of water, flowers, dirt, and grass. They play 'Princess and Servant'. Tori is the princess (not a surprise), wraps a pool floatie around her waist, and perches herself on the deck so she can oversee her kingdom (the sand pit) and make sure Devin is keeping it clean.
Last week, they were looking for a messier way to spend the afternoon. They remembered the fun they had last year with shaving foam and Tori asked me if we had any more. We did. I sprayed the entire bottle on the picnic table, hooked up the sprinkler right next to them, and got out of the way. Tori wanted to wear her goggles so she could see. It was a fantastic idea, except she immediately covered the goggles - along with every square inch of her body.
